Reichley Congratulates Lower Macungie on $40,000 Open Space Grant
Rep. Doug Reichley (R-Lehigh/Berks) congratulated Lower Macungie Township upon the announcement that it will receive a $40,000 grant to develop a Greenways and Open Space Network Plan.
Funding was made possible through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP) under the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
“The community’s interest in preserving open space in suburban areas remains strong,” said Reichley. “State funding assists in bringing these projects to completion and averting overdevelopment.”
DCNR’s Bureau of Recreation and Conservation distributes state funds in an effort to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts, and other nonprofits for the planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenway projects.
CCPP is administered by DCNR and is comprised of the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund (Key 93), the Environmental Stewardship Fund (Growing Greener 1), the Growing Greener Bond Fund (Growing Greener 2) and several federal funding sources.
